Since 2016, I have worked directly from the territory to highlight the connection between nature, culture and conservation in Colombia.
I began by creating a tourism company with the intention of showcasing lesser-known regions of the country. Along the way, I realized that the most important thing was to listen to the people who inhabit these places. Listening to their stories, their rhythms and their way of caring for life transformed the way I work.
My approach has always been rooted in listening. I propose from dialogue, I never impose, because conservation cannot be imposed. It must align with the quality of life of communities and strengthen their own ways of inhabiting and protecting their territory.
Among the destinations I once promoted, Bahía Málaga became the place where I developed community projects and built genuine relationships with families who care for the territory.
Over time, I understood the level of support these communities need, especially in seasons when whale-watching declines and income becomes unstable. During the pandemic, I brought everything together and told myself, “I will start selling my photographs to contribute in a tangible way.”
And that is how this project began.
Photography became a way to bring these territories closer to the world, to generate awareness, connection and respect from afar.
I firmly believe that we do not protect what we do not know. Every image I create is an invitation to remember that we do not need another planet, we already live in extraordinary places worth protecting. And I am not speaking only about Colombia.
When someone sees my photographs, I hope they think:
“It’s incredible that this place exists. I hope it never stops existing.”
And I hope they understand that its future depends on all of us. On our daily habits, our decisions, and what we choose to support.
Impact That Stays in the Territory
15% of every artwork directly supports families in Bahía Málaga with whom I have worked for years. People who protect one of the most biodiverse regions in the world and who often face significant barriers to basic well-being.
To care for nature also means ensuring a dignified life for those who protect it.
A Necessary Reminder
This project is an invitation to see Colombia as a hidden paradise sustained by communities who protect life every single day.
Supporting these works is a way of recognizing their commitment and remembering that conservation also begins at home.
Thank you for reading.
And thank you for believing in this.
